Banchan: 1st 4 cold dishes


Western style Potato salad
Cubed Potatoes (boiled till soft),
Add frozen Peas & Carrots @ last min. before draining,
Add to a bowl...
with
"Kewpie" Japanese brand Mayo,
Fresh ground pepper,
Mirin
(Salt or optional deli meat ham/turkey for xtra saltiness)



Bean sprout Namul

Bean sprouts blanched,
pressed dry by hands.
Add to bowl...
with
sesame seeds,
sesame oil,
Seasalt & Fresh ground pepper,
Slice or 2 of red pepper (Garnish)
Mirin



Spinach & Watercress Namul
Blanch Spinach & Watercress in salted water,
Hand press dry
Add to bowl...
with
sesame seeds,
sesame oil,
Seasalt & Fresh ground pepper,
(Mirin & fresh garlic clove optional)
"if u feel like it 2day = add"

Korean Potato Salad
Blanch Potato thin sliced 1 to 2 min in boiling water
(I use a potato peeler,
if I feel like making z potato salad into a rose, I can)
Add to bowl...
with
sesame oil,
sesame seeds,
Chicken broth for taste,
Seasalt & Fresh ground pepper,
(Mirin optional, I am hooked on mirin tts why...
Oh, and my GF add thin sliced apple to sweeten it
& green hot peppers 4 spice plus garnish)
